At its October 21 meeting, The Spahr Center’s Board of Directors elected its thirteenth member, Denny David. Denny adds additional, outstanding experience as a visionary of LGBTQ+ youth programs to the agency’s leadership.

Denny is the Deputy Director of LYRIC, an LGBTQ+ Youth Center in San Francisco. He became involved with Spectrum LGBT Center and Marin AIDS Project (MAP) in the early 2000s, while coordinating statewide LGBT youth leadership conferences. Denny brings over 17 years of LGBTQ+ youth development experience to The Spahr Center, including expertise in Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (SOGI) data collection, program design and evaluation, and capacity building efforts to support safe and inclusive spaces for LGBTQ+ young people. Too often, he has seen LGBTQ+ young people leave Marin County in order to access a supportive community and lifesaving services. He is passionate about The Spahr Center’s mission to support local LGBTQ+ community empowerment. Denny and his partner live in Fairfax, CA with their dog, Delilah.

Welcome, Denny!  We are honored and thrilled to have you join The Spahr Center family.
