Thomas E. Roth, Volunteer Director
HIV Wellness Initiative • David Lynch Foundation Welcome to the Transcendental Meditation (TM) Program.
TM is a simple, natural, effortless mental technique that’s practiced 20 minutes, twice each day. Over 350 peer-reviewed published scientific studies indicate that TM improves alertness, memory and creativity, while reducing anxiety. It also provides a deep period of rest that releases deep-rooted stress, reduces tension and fatigue, increases energy, and improves health. Please visit www.TM.org to review the research.
We are pleased to bring the TM program to The Spahr Center. The program is made possible here due to grants from the Maharishi Foundation, scholarship funding from the David Lynch Foundation, and local volunteer support.
An enormous amount of research has been conducted indicating the benefits of TM on people living with depression, ADHD, high blood pressure, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, cholesterol, diabetes, insomnia, weight imbalance, and substance use among other issues.
Besides simply wanting to “give back” to our community by providing this training, our aim is to help identify the benefits of TM on people living with HIV/AIDS.
Here is the information for the upcoming course (each lesson is about an hour long):
Orientation: Thursday March 19 at 5:00 pm
Lessons: March 24, 25, 26 and 27
You will receive complete TM training and follow up at The Spahr Center, to ensure that you obtain maximum benefits from your daily practice.
