Youth Programs

LGBTQIA+ Youth Advisory Council

Caring reminder: This page mentions suicide and may feel emotionally painful for some people.

The Spahr Center is building a new program, and we want LGBTQIA+ youth in Marin County to lead the way!

We are building a LGBTQIA+ Youth Advisory Council of 20 youth who will serve as visionaries and creators of a multi-media youth suicide prevention awareness and resource campaign. The theme of the campaign is: When I love me, I love you.

Sparks: LGBTQ+ Youth Community Support Groups

Youth community groups are free-drop groups that provide professional and peer support in LGBTQ+ affirming spaces and offer opportunity for young people to create connection and build community. Groups include lessons and activities on identity development, hope, resilience, and strength.

We host a Middle School Group and a High School Group on a biweekly basis. All groups are hosted at The Spahr Center, 1575 Francisco Blvd E, San Rafael, CA 94901.

Q Groups: Programs in Schools

The Spahr Center facilitates Q Groups in schools across Marin County. These are LGBTQ+ youth groups that occur during school hours, on school grounds. Click below to discover which middle and high school in which we offer Q Groups.

To learn more about Q Groups, email to Ari Sifuentes (she/her), LMFT Director of Mental Health
