Sparks: LGBTQ+ Youth Support Group (Middle School)
Join The Spahr Center’s FREE drop-in youth support groups! Groups include lessons and activities on identity development, hope, resilience, and strength. The Sparks Groups provide a bi-weekly space for LGBTQ+ youth in middle school and high school to build community with peers while receiving mental health support from trained facilitators.
Our Middle School Sparks Groups meets every other Friday, 5-6pm starting January 19.

Family & Caregiver Series: Supporting LGBTQ+ Youth & Families
In partnership with CalHope and Marin County Office of Education, The Spahr Center is participating in a new education series for families and caregivers of LGBTQ+ students. Panels are hosted on Zoom. Register <here>. Spanish translation available upon request with at least 3 days notice.

This is a safe, welcoming space where you can explore how to best support yourself as you support your transgender, non-binary, or questioning child, grandchild, or loved one of any age. This is a supportive, non-judgmental space facilitated by Janna Barkin, Family Programs Manager, author, and parent of a transgender child.
This groups meets the second and fourth Tuesdays from 7:00pm-8:30pm on Zoom.

This series includes three free sessions featuring Dominic Carrillo (he/el), Director of the Training Institute, among local educators with experience building inclusive environments for all their students.

Grandparents Community Support Group
Come share your experiences in a non-judgmental, welcoming space for grandparents of gender expansive people of all ages. This is a space for learning, giving and seeking support, openly sharing with one another, and finding the information you need.
This group is facilitated by Janna Barkin, Family Programs Manager, author, and parent of a transgender child.
This group takes place on the first and third Tuesdays from 12:00pm-1:30pm on Zoom.

Novato LGBT+ Senior Discussion Group
What: Get together with other LGBT+ older adults at Margaret Todd Senior Center on the Second Tuesday of each month. Discussion topics vary and you are welcome to bring up topics that are interesting to you! You are welcome to bring your lunch
When: Every Second Tuesday, from 12:30-2:30. 12:30-1 is time to mingle, and the discussion starts at 1.
